Don't Forget to Renew!

If you are already signed up for the CDCP, there is something very important you need to do right now. Your coverage does not stay active forever; you have to renew it every year.

  • The Deadline: You must renew your coverage between now and June 1, 2026.
  • How to Do It: Log in to your My Service Canada Account (MSCA) or call the government’s dental line. You just need to confirm that you still meet the rules (like your income).
  • What Happens if You Wait? If you miss the June 1st deadline, your benefits will stop on June 30, 2026.
  • New Members: If you haven’t signed up yet, the government is pausing new applications for a few weeks. You can apply again starting June 2, 2026.

Who Can Get Help from the Canadian Dental Program?

The Canadian dental program was built to help people get to the dentist more easily. To qualify, you just need to meet these simple rules:

  • No Other Insurance: You don’t have dental coverage through work, a pension, or a school plan.
  • Family Income: Your family makes less than $90,000 a year.
Tax Filing: You live in Canada and filed your 2025 tax return.
  • Open to Everyone: Right now, the plan is open to Seniors (65+), Adults (18-64), and Kids (under 17).

If you are a senior, the Canadian dental care plan near you is a great way to keep your teeth healthy as you age. It is designed to help with the specific types of care that older adults often need.

How Much Does the Plan Pay?

The Canadian dental care plan in Calgary, AB, helps pay for your visits, but the amount depends on how much money your family makes.

If Your Family Income Is… The Plan Pays… You Pay…
Below $70,000 100% of the plan’s fees 0%
$70,000 – $79,999 60% of the plan’s fees 40%
$80,000 – $89,999 40% of the plan’s fees 60%
Quick Tip: Even if the plan pays “100%,” there might still be a very small fee. This is because our office uses high-quality materials and technology that sometimes cost a little more than the basic government price list. We will always tell you the cost before we start!

What’s New This Spring?

The government made some changes in April 2026 to make things faster for you:

  • Faster Dentures: For some types of new dentures, we don’t have to wait for government approval anymore. This means Dr. Tom Pecek can get your new smile ready much quicker.
  • Fixing Dentures: If your current dentures are loose, the plan now makes it easier to get them “lined” (fixed) so they fit better.
  • Sensitive Teeth: If your teeth hurt when you eat cold or hot food, we can now ask the government to cover special treatments to help.

For this plan, you are considered a senior if you are 65 years or older. The Canadian government dental plan for senior residents is specifically for this age group.
